AN AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES.
INTRODUCTION
As part of the B.Ed curriculum, the student teacher has to conduct a conscientization programme during our first school internship programme. I conducted a conscientization programme on 'Awareness about Environmental issues' on 18th January in the class IX E. I conducted this programme at Govt HSS, Puthoor.
There are many environmental issues in India ,that contribute to the pollution of the natural environment like Air pollution, water pollution , garbage are all challenges for India.The situation was worse day by day.Environmental issues are one of the primary cause of diseases and health issues.
OBJECTIVES
To sensitize the students on environmental issues .
To understand the basic knowledge on environmental issues and familiarize such situations.
To ensure active participation of students in the protection of environment .
To ensure active participation of individual in the protection of environment.
To develop concern and love towards nature.
NEED AND SIGNIFICANCE
Environmental issues are harmful effects of human activities on the biophysical environment.Environmental protection is a practise of protecting the natural environment on individual , organisational or governmental levels for the benefit of both the environment and humans.Environment destruction caused by humans is a global problem that is ongoing everyday. our mother earth is currently facing lot of environmental concerns.The environmental problems like global warming, acid rain, air pollution, soil pollution ,deforestation, plastic pollution, waste disposal and many more affect every human, animal and nation on this planet. over the last few decades the exploitation of our environment have gone up at an alarming rate.So environmental awareness serves an educational tool and help people to understand the consequences of human activities on environment and identifies remedies
REPORT
I took my conscientization class on ' awareness about the environmental issues 'in ninth standard. At the beginning of the class I asked some questions related to the environment.The students answered well. Then I gave a short introduction and objectives of the programme. After that each student expressed their individual thoughts ,issues and impacts.I showed them a video clip and pictures that depicted the various environmental issues and its dreadful effects. I elicited students responses to the topic asked them to give causes, effects and solutions for the issue.I used the powerpoint presentation to transact the idea to the learners.The students were attentive and found interested in the class. All students were diligently listened to the class.Through this programme I could give them awareness about environmental issues and how to protect them.
CONCLUSION
Through this programme I could give students awareness about environmental issues.This programme could inculcate an affinity towards the nature among the students.Majority of the students expressed their views on protecting the environment .All the students promised to take a step for preserving the nature.
